Exercise – Yes, we’ve all heard it for years: Exercise is good for your body.  Psychological research has outlined many mental health benefits of exercise
as well. 

These include: 
  Reduced depression
  Reduced anxiety
  Elevated mood
  Improved self-esteem
  Decreased PMS symptoms           (Scully et al., 1998)

Here’s a tip:  If it’s hard to motivate yourself to exercise, have your exercise gear ready to go and easy to access (e.g., keep your packed gym bag in your car, leave your running shoes and socks near the door), and you’re more likely to choose exercising over not exercising.  And be sure to consult your GP before undertaking any exercise programme.
