In a recent edition of the Brainwave Trust newsletter, a report was made on the work of Dr Bruce Perry and his colleague Annette Jackson. The two are part of a project by the Child Trauma Academy.

Key findings/insights included:

Touch, language and rhythmic movement that occurs in supportive relationships builds the brain’s cortex.

Children take in parents’ thoughts, feelings, and behaviours.

The quality of early caregiving sets the stage for a child’s future interpersonal relationships.

If you or someone you know needs help with attachment or bonding with a child or interpersonal relationships generally, contact us.
