It’s someone who studies the cognitive effects of people viewing fonts and words. Reading psychologists have discovered that obviously words with more letters take longer to read than words with fewer letters. Also, they’ve learned that reading on computer screens leads to more eye fatigue than reading text on paper, possibly due to variations in contrast and text size.

And, they’ve discovered that reading something that is nicely designed, with layout including paragraph indentations and larger text for headlines led to increased creativity in the reader.

So, when you think that psychologists either sit in a lab running rats through mazes or in their offices with clients, think again. Psychology and psychologists are everywhere working to understand and improve our world.
